You know you are mixed when….
people have no idea how your
hair or skin works.
you know you are in trouble because your
mum just switched to her mother tongue.
fusion food was just called food.
you are praying you dad finds out
what you did first so you don’t
have to eat a spoon full of chilli
again.
one of your parents will complain how over/under spiced
their cooking is.
when on holiday someone has to spend
whole time in the shade fearing the heat.
and someone has to spend the whole time indoors
fearing the cold.
going out with your parents just leads
to awkward questions.
you have your own unique family traditions.
you probably have some family members somewhat
against your very existence.
you are really tired of explaining how your parents met.
